Collaboration

Wild Thyme

We are three musicians from regional Australia, Katie Crane on guitar, Arlene Fletcher on double bass, and me, Laura Targett, on fiddle and vocals. Fueled by late nights spent jamming round campfires and a deep creative friendship, we blend our diverse musical and cultural backgrounds into a unique acoustic sound that defies genre while honouring our roots.

With one foot in tradition and the other stepping boldly into new territory, our original songs and vibrant live shows have been met with sold-out performances and invitations to festivals like Dorrigo Bluegrass, Spring Roots Fest, and the Bellingen Readers and Writers Festival.

Our debut album Between Worlds was released in 2023, capturing the wild, upbeat, tender, and soulful spirit of our music, sweet vocal harmonies, virtuosic instrumentals, and joyful improvisation that brings a pinch of sass, lots of laughter, and a rare authenticity to every stage.

The Allsorts

Meet The Allsorts, a community music group with heart and soul playing music from Around the Globe.

From the forests of regional NSW comes The Allsorts, a vibrant 14-piece community music group that lives up to its name. Led by acclaimed musician Laura Targett, The Allsorts are a joyful medley of generations and tunes, bringing together musicians of all ages united by a shared passion for global folk traditions and the power of community.

Their rich and eclectic repertoire spans continents, featuring evocative tunes from Afghanistan, France, Macedonia, Russia, Ireland, and beyond. Whether it’s a haunting Balkan melody or a lilting Celtic waltz, The Allsorts infuse each performance with warmth, colour, and an infectious energy that reflects the vibrant characters within the group.

More than just a band, The Allsorts are a celebration of connection, culture, and the universal language of music, a living example of what happens when community and creativity come together in harmony.

Kinfolk Orkestar

We are The Kinsfolk Orkestar, a collective of rare musical souls where folk meets jazz, groove meets grit, and tradition meets fearless improvisation. Our sound is rooted in melodies from Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Celtic world, reimagined through a vibrant blend of virtuosic playing, deep rhythm, and joyful spontaneity.

At our heart is fiddler Laura Targett, joined by Emiliano Beltzer (Santa Taranta) on guitar and bass, Joshua Szabo (Hello Tut Tut) on bass and lute, Oscar Eager on trumpet, and Otis Lyons on drums. Together, we create an ever-shifting sonic landscape where bow, brass, and beats collide, lifting feet off the floor and spirits out of the everyday.

Each member honours their musical and cultural heritage while taking daring left turns into the unexpected — celebrating the wild alchemy that only live music can offer. From ancient tunes to fresh inventions, we defy you to stay seated. Bring your dancing shoes — or just your full attention — and come feel the groove move you.

Chameleon

We are a trio born from a 20-year friendship and musical journey, me, Laura Targett (fiddle), Bree Delian (accordion), and Luis Nicolás Carrete (guitar and bass). Drawing on rich Celtic traditions from Ireland, Scotland, Spain, and Brittany, our love for Spanish melodies and Eastern European rhythms breathes new life into time-honoured tunes, taking unexpected turns that create a sound both vibrant and reflective.

With Bree’s soulful accordion, Luis’s driving guitar lines, and my lively fiddling, we celebrate the spontaneity, intimacy, and pure joy of live music. Our performances are an invitation to join a conversation, between friends and traditions, past and present, musicians and moment, where every note feels alive and shared.

Our sets weave old favourites with new interpretations, from playful rhythmic experiments sparked around campfires to rich harmonies that draw on decades of shared memories. Whether it’s a Macedonian 7/8 chant or a Shetland reel passed down through sessions, each piece tells a story shaped by the journeys we’ve taken together, across hemispheres and stages worldwide.
